Farming Philosophy
Hailey Farms aims to integrate advanced technology with
sustainable farming practices and a deep respect for the land to deliver high quality, delicious, ALWAYS herbicide and pesticide free produce, flowers and value-added products to the local residents and businesses in the Wood River Valley. Our commitment to locally sourced food will help protect food security and availability within the community.
The greenhouses at Hailey Farms are the latest in sustainable
agriculture technology. They are climate-controlled, using both passive and active cooling systems, and are heated with electric heat pumps, which use much less energy and greenhouse gasses than typical gas- powered greenhouses. The whole farm is solar-powered, and everything is grown and harvested by hand.
Produce in the two large greenhouses are grown in soil – protecting and utilizing the active microbiome and nutrients from the ground. They have root-zone heating 16” underground, which enables us to grow happy plants almost 9 months out of the year.
Hailey farms is committed to sustainable agriculture and delivering the best quality food to the local community.

Finding Your Way to Hailey Farms
115 Rock Creek Rd, Hailey, ID 83333

Austin has always had a passion for sustainable food and the outdoors – Hailey Farms brings both those passions to reality. Though farming remained a distant dream while working in the corporate world, in 2020 it was time for a change. Growing up, he spent his winters skiing in Sun Valley and fell in love with both the nature and community in the Wood River Valley. Recognizing the need for more local produce grown in Blaine County, and eager to start his farm, Austin purchased Hailey Farms in 2021.
Having previously worked on small organic farms, but wanting to learn more, Austin spent the next two years in graduate studies in Tropical Plants and Soil Science at the University of Hawaii at Manoa – expanding his knowledge-base of agronomy, soil and nutrient management, and sustainable food production systems.
Beginning in 2024 Austin spent two years building a Hailey Farms from the ground up. In addition to infrastructure (power, water, roads, etc.), over 7,500 square feet of advanced, climate-controlled, sustainably-powered greenhouses were constructed. These greenhouses will enable Hailey Farms to produce food from spring, to summer, fall, and into early winter. Hailey Farms also grows over an acre + of vegetables and cut flowers outdoors.
Hailey Farms shares a commitment to fresh, local, sustainably grown food. The farm currently works with numerous local retailers and restaurants, and continues to expand its customer base in the Wood River Valley. In addition, a direct-to-consumer CSA Produce Box program was introduced in 2025, with plans to greatly increase CSA members in 2026 and beyond. The CSA program delivers fresh, hand-picked produce right to your door! Finally, Hailey Farms will be joining the Wood River Farmers’ Markets in Ketchum
and Hailey in Summer 2026.
